Transformers Art and Spoilers?
January 26, 2012
Well not really but there is a great article on Comic Book Resources and an interview with Simon Furman where he tells more about the project than has so far been revealed and there are five YES FIVE! pages of art up there. Just to let you know that the pages were a first pass. Final versions by John Paul Bove below.

I am absolutely LOVING the artwork here!!! I kinda wish we could redo all the old issues like that. Now that we are no longer limited to 16 colour prints and now can do so much on the computer. The little kid inside of me lived a little again today. ^_^
I-WANT-I-WANT-I-WANT-I-WANT-I-WANT-I-WANT!!!! :-p
Awesome art and colours!!! Can’t wait to see more

We searched hard for a colourist who could get just the right feel for it and JPB was the one that stood out. New techniques but capturing the essence of the traditional comic look. With a bit of the Transformers Animated Movie style thrown in
Any chance the comics go beyond issue #100?
Ooh! I wish that was possible… The way the Marvel Comics (both U.S. and U.K.) were set up left us with so much untapped potential for so much more…
You might enjoy my video of the video at the AutoAssembly last year…

Re going beyond #100… No. Absolutely not. We are telling THE end to THE Transformers story
Thanks for the video link, Raymond
No problem…
The artwork looks amazing!
The only difference I can see with the old days (apart from the mayor coloring improvement) is that Stephen’s inking style has evolved and has become even more sophisticated, and that your art has become cleaner, Andrew. Some panels were perhaps a bit… full and “in your face” in the old days, where here I can very clearly see some more evolved storytelling, the page layouts are more adventurous and, again, sophisticated.
I really like the redoing of the panel where Optimus throws an engine into Meggie’s face. I recall that was a very weird panel in the original comic, where Optimus was missing a leg, his other leg really couldn’t fit onto his body (and it wasn’t even drawn by Rob Liefeld!!), and his head was at an angle where it must have been loose from his neck. In other words: someone must have been chopping Frank Springer’s art into something that wasn’t intended
As for issue #100, yes, I’m sure you guys will stop there….. because Transformers Generation 2 # 13 comes after that, right?
